Summer Babies!

There has to be something about summer babies! They are just so cheerful! You can spot a summer baby from a mile away. You can tell they were born in the time of warmth light drizzles of rain, that just naturally makes people feel good. Their bubly personality makes you wanto just be with them! They show off this lovely side of theirs until...........you step on the foot and walk away, then u in the ****s.

This summer I will be spending time with cheerful people like that that will not bring no negative energies around! We say no to grey moods and yes yes yes to yellow, pink and cheerful coulorful moods.  After such a long year of hard work, hardships, joy, love, new beginings and growth I just want to enjoy my holidays with people that will bring light in my life.

A wise persoon once said "there are two ways to bring light, either be the light that shines or the mirror in which the light is reflected on." If u are not one of these sorry see you on the flip side!

Life and lemons

When life throws limes at you
you have two options...
1. Sit down and squeeze the hell outta the lime to get juice,
when you are done sit, drink and enjoy
OR
2. Get a good sharp chefs' knives and slice the limes,
get a bottle of tequilla, some salt drink and enjoy.

The diferrence between the two choices is that you will drink and forget about the lemonade (lime juice)
meanwhile the tequilla, lime and salt will be remembered tommorow - aka Babalaas.

My true and real friends are the tequilla lime and salt
they have brought flavour, memories and good times in my life,
unlike lemonade they were not there for a moment of pleasure
to quench a thirst that will come back again.

Man's greatest Relationship

Man's greatest relationship is that of man and his creator.
This relationship is the centre of it all.  If one has a solid, clear, strong relationship with one's Creator it enables one to form other relationships.  I believe that family, work, social and romantic relationships reflect the type of relationship one has with one's Creator.  The Bible clearly states that "the begining of wisdom is the fear of the Lord - Proverbs 9:10. This wisdom will help help us choose better, live better and love better.  With this wisdom one can create relationships that are unbreakable.

If you have come to know and fear God (have a relationship with Him), you start experiencing and understanding love.  Then.......we will be able to love the way we should.  The greatest principle taught to us by the Bible is to Love and be Loved.  One could say: "how can we ensure we are loved back?" my answer is you need not worry about being loved back by man...the most important Love one needs to know is that of your Creator.  He has loved you, he loves you, He will always love you....
Now how important is that?
That is why I call it Man's greatest relationship.

Spring is here

I am a sucker for Spring....

I love them bright and lovely colours around, people are just jolly and happy and there is no dullness. What I love the most is the clothes! We get to wear it all, the shorts, the short skirts, skin tops and all,  like my Mozambiquan sisters hiding as little as possible! My most recent buy - 2 pairs of peep toe wedges have to be my favourite these days....And I rediscovered 2 of the shortest denim skirts I own! yey! hihihi!

Ladies shave and wax them legs, armpits bits and pieces(giggles).  Exfoliate, mosturise and if u got it flaunt it! I am showing leg at work, weekends and to church! halleluja to Spring! May I hear an Amen?

Eat and be Merry!

I am a lover of food and not just food but good food! It has to be appealing to the eye, creatively plated and colourful.

I love me a good hot thai Fish curry on a chilly winter afternoon,
A soulful Chicken pasta with lots of colourful peppers for dinner,
Some chilled paw paw on a hot summer evening,
And meat...chicken in particular, Roasted, Stewed, Curried, Grilled, bring it on!
I love Green salads in summer with lots of sweet tomatoes, feta cheese and coulourful peppers!
Once in a while I love me some pap and chicken traditionally cooked with salt white pepper and onions.

I've heard that food can make the heart feel warm and comforted, this reminds me of my favourite comfort food:  Blue Berry Cheesecake Ice cream, Top deck chocolate slab and my recently discovered FKC's Very Berry Crusher Smoothie mmmmmmmmm(mouth watering as I think of it) hahaha!

Aint no need to feel guilty about indulging on your favourite meal. As long as you enjoy and not over eat...go on eat, and be Merry!

I am not my hair

I absolutely loooove India.Arie's song "I am not my hair".
It speaks to me in volumes.

2010 December after I had it with the blazing heat (and motivated by pregnancy hormones)

I walked into a barber shop and shaved it all.  My sleek fancy relaxed bob all went to the floor!  It wasn't my first time doing it, I believe everyime I do that it is a begining of great thing in my life. 

A couple of months down the line I grew my hair to a natural fro, but that wasn't me so I'm back to being the "Weave Queen" that I am.  I am one of the many women who say - "coz I bought it (the weave) then its mine (my hair)". 

They say that the head of a woman is her crowning glory and indeed I agree.  Although what is on your head does not define what iis within you it greatly represents you.  This leads me to India.Arie's lyrics from the song I am not my hair -  "Good hair means curls and waves, Bad hair means you look like a slave, at the turn of the century it's time to redifine who you be you can shave it off like a South African beauty or get in on lock like Bob Marley you can rock a straight like Oprah Winfrey, If its not whats on your head its whats underneath".

Your quiet place...

There comes that time when one needs to walk away from everything. 
Leave all behind and just be..........
These times need to be acknowledged,
they are not luxury, they are a need. 
In this time its just you, you alone with that inner voice that speaks to you and tells everything as it is. 

One needs to take this time when a clear decision need to be taken,
when you want to hear what ur inner wo/man is saying.

When one is in this space away from it all,
away from the loud world that often clouds our lifes with artificial things,
away from the people you love that make you take drastic decision just because you love them,
when you are away from the people who bring out the worst in you. 
Then you are at a perfect place. 
A place where stillness is so loud and clear you can hear all you have to hear. 

I need that, you need that, We all need that once in every while. 
If we just took that time then we would be happier people.  I want that!

What women want...

Women want to be free,
free to love, free to be loved
Freedom to us means being able to be ourselves and not apologetic therefore. 


Woment want it to be know that we need to be Celebrated,
We want to know that we can celebrate our womenhood and not be judged. 
Why should i be ashamed that I am a woman who is able to maintain who I am?  
Should I celebrate my victories in discreet?

Pity doesn't keep us going. 
Do not feel sorry for me coz I am going through a rough patch,
What will your pity give me except belittle the confidence I have?

Women want to be supported. 
So u do not believe in my dream? Fine. 
But support the fact that I have a dream and am not
sitting on my bum waiting for Jack's Luck!
Atleast i am not waiting to winn the lottery then start living the life I want to live.

So, What do women want?
Women want to be free,
Women want to be celebrated,
Woment want to be supported with a lil bit of Love..........

So.......

You are out with your friends have a good time, a couple of drinks, then it's time to head home.  As you drive home, ALONE, coz u did a not score any of the "chicks" that got you guys to pay their bill you think.......hmmm, I know who I can call!

2am - you decide to call me...we are friends with benefits, only when it benefits you.

You: "hey babe i miss u!
Me:  "its 2am r u okay?"
You: "yeah, but like i said...i miss u, can i come over to ur place?"
Me:  "can't you wait till tommorrow?"
You: "nooooo, c'mon girl i want u i want u sooo bad"

Now seriously dude you want me coz could not score not because you miss me. 

Maybe, just maybe we as women have given men the liberty to such to us treat us like we are pieces of nothing.  Ladiez there is nothing like a relationship that is "no strings attached" we are women we are emotional beings there is bound to be emotions involved!
